Firefly is Adobe's entry to generative features. The point is not one stunning image but a connected workflow: generated or edited results move into Photoshop or Illustrator for manual work, with layers, masks and type intact. Text effects and graphic generation are well behaved, suited to marketing assets. Adobe publishes notes on training sources and result usage; check them before commercial use. On its own it may not win, but inside an Adobe workflow it pays off.
What it does
- Text-to-image, graphics and text effects aimed at graphics and marketing
- Results continue in Photoshop and other editors
- Generative expand and selection-based replacement
- Connects with Adobe fonts and asset libraries
- Public notes on source material and usage terms
Who it is for
- Campaign key visuals, banners and social images finished in Photoshop
- An image needs expanded edges for different placements
- Replace one element without repainting the whole image
- Commercial delivery needs a traceable source policy
How to get started
- Generate the base image on the web and confirm the composition works
- Move it into Photoshop for retouching, new type and color grading
- Use generative expand for other aspect ratios instead of stretching
