AI video generation
4 totalText-to-video, image-to-video, AI avatars and smart editing.
This category covers three very different jobs: generating a few seconds of footage, turning a photo plus a script into a talking-head video, and automatically cutting long material into short clips with subtitles.
Shot generators are limited by duration and consistency and are usually used for cutaways and transitions. Talking-head tools solve explainer videos without appearing on camera. Editing tools solve having footage but no time to process it.
Choose by what you already have:
- Only a script: generate visuals from scratch with text-to-video, or use a digital presenter for a talking-head format.
- One image: image-to-video animates a still. Check each product's per-clip duration limit, which varies a lot.
- Long footage: use smart editing tools for clip extraction, subtitles and vertical reframing.
- Continuous storytelling: keeping the same character and scene across shots is still unreliable. Split into shots and generate several takes to choose from.
- Publishing: note platform labeling rules for generated content, and verify licenses for commercial footage.

Frequently asked questions
Why are generated videos only a few seconds long?
Video compute grows quickly with duration, so vendors cap a single generation at a few to a dozen seconds and build longer pieces by generating and stitching several clips. For a finished explainer, combining generated cutaways with editing is more realistic.
What if the character does not match across shots?
Common practice is to fix a reference image and reduce motion within the shot, or hand the face to a digital-presenter product and use cutaways elsewhere. Perfect cross-shot consistency still requires human selection.
What should I watch out for with digital presenters?
Using a real person's face and voice requires their permission, and commercial material should keep a record of it. Promoting someone else's likeness raises portrait and reputation risks, and platforms usually moderate it.
Are subtitles and clip cutting the same kind of product?
No. Subtitles and transcription are audio processing; clip extraction and highlight detection are content understanding. Their maturity differs. Each detail page notes which part the product handles.
