About this tool
The text set tool compares two lists and handles intersection, difference and union in one place:
- Intersection: items present in both lists (A and B)
- Difference: items in A but not in B
- Union: both lists merged with duplicates removed
- Options: deduplicate, skip blank lines, trim surrounding spaces and choose whether case matters
- Counts: sizes of A, B and the result
When to use it
- Compare two data sets for overlaps and gaps
- Find people who appear on both lists
- Merge two lists without duplicates
- Find records in A that are missing from B
