IP Lookup
Look up the location and ISP behind any IP address, IPv4 and IPv6 included
About this tool
The IP lookup tool shows the location and network details behind any IP address, useful for network diagnosis, security audits and visitor analysis:
- Location: country, region and city level data
- ISP: the carrier or network operator behind the address
- My IP: one click to see your current public IP
- IPv6 support: lookups work for IPv6 addresses as well
When to use it
- Network diagnosis: confirm the egress IP when a connection fails
- Visitor analysis: see the geographic spread of site visitors
- Security audit: identify where a suspicious IP comes from
- CDN routing: check which node is closest to a user
- Access checks: verify an IP belongs to an expected region
Note: location data comes from public IP geolocation databases and is usually accurate to city level, not the exact address. Mobile users may see the number registration region instead of their current position.
IP lookup tips
- Accuracy: IP geolocation rarely goes finer than city level
- IPv4 vs IPv6: IPv4 looks like 192.168.1.1 (32 bit), IPv6 like 2001:db8::1 (128 bit)
- Private ranges: 10.x.x.x, 172.16-31.x.x and 192.168.x.x cannot be located publicly
- CDN effect: behind a CDN you may see the node IP, not the origin server IP
